Climate
The Tri-City region enjoys approximately 300 days of
sunshine per year. With a pleasant desert climate typified by warm
summers and moderate winter temperatures, the Tri-Cities region has
a markedly different weather pattern than locations on the west
side of the Cascade Mountains, and more moderate seasons than many
other inland locations. Although climatically a desert, the
Tri-Cities area has an abundance of water. The Columbia,
Yakima, and Snake Rivers are central to the area’s
agricultural production and are an important component to the
variety of recreational activities available in the region.
